Friendship Intro – Protest Design & High Society
Here’s another little demo made by Renderman from Protest Design released in September 1999 called Friendship Intro. I swear I’m just taking random demos from my list and they all turn out to be from Protest Design. It’s uncanny.
Friendship Intro features a 10-second intro and then a looping section with scrolling text, as many demos do. There is some happy, fast-paced music in the background that helps cement the tone of the demo. The first intro section has the words ‘Protest Design’ wobbling around, with some sort of disco spotlight effect in the background. The looping part of Friendship Intro moves their name to the top half, and then includes High Society’s name underneath, with the scrolling text in the middle.

There’s not much else to say about this without any context. The text in the video refers to some ‘confusion’, but nothing too specific. Though it’s good to see people make amends with each other in order to keep the homebrew scene alive.
Or this could just be a sarcastic slap-in-the-face, making fun of High Society’s reaction to some drama. Who knows.
