Alienstyle
Alienstyle is a fairly simple demo made by Renderman from Protest Design released in April 1999. You might remember them from their magnum opus, Dexanoid. This is a demo which is like many other homebrew projects from back in the day; some background image, some ‘scrolling’ text and some in-your-face techno music. You can download the ROM for this demo here.
What Alienstyle features is some text flipping wildly that says ‘Protest’, likely in reference to the group to which Renderman belongs to, Protest Design. Under it, there is some text that has a word or two at a time and then fades into the next set of words. You can read the transcript below the video on this page.

This is a fairly basic demo. The text implies that it was done in a day, which I presume means that the engine was there already and all Renderman did was replace assets and add timings.
He also gives thanks to the people who voted for him at Presence of Mind 1998, where he submitted another (more complex) demo called POMolizer. I haven’t made a post about it yet, but it’s sure to be in the pipeline.
The attached info files include some links to Renderman’s website, protest-design.de. Sadly, the website was only up for a year or two and now it belongs to a German quad bike company, so I won’t link to it. The in-game text also refers the reader to Dextrose.com an IRC chat on Efnet, but those are no longer operational.
