Retron 5 won’t be supporting Nintendo 64

The Hint
Back in March of this year, Hyperkin hinted that their new retro console, the Retron 5, might have Nintendo 64 support.
“Yeah, but if you really want an insight I can tell you: check us out at E3, you’ll see something there. That is an exclusive, actually; I have not told anyone else, any other media, or any press that. If you really are big about the N64, you will see something at E3.” — Chris Gallizzi
This brought up hopes in a lot of people and contributed to a rumour that the Retron 5 would support Nintendo 64 cartridges.
The Retron 5
The Retron 5 is a retro game console clone that plays NES/Famicom, SNES, GB/GBC/GBA and Genesis/MD/MS games, all conveniently in one console. The console has two controller ports for each system but still includes its own proprietary controller which I assume is compatible with all the systems that it emulates.
Now, this is all well and good. I might even think about getting one so that I don’t have so many consoles huddled around the television, and I really want to know how it looks to play these games with crystal clear pixels rather than the blurry ones that I am so used to.
However, the release date has been pushed around for about a year. Even though I believe that it has been released officially last month, I am still finding it quite difficult to fins a retailer that sells any at all, let alone in the UK. If anyone knows, please leave a comment so that I can find out where to get one =)
The Retron 5 and the Nintendo 64
It seems as though the Retron 5 has now been released with compatibility with games from all the aforementioned systems. However there doesn’t seem to be any news regarding its compatibility with N64 games. The controller does give me hope though, it seems as though it has an analogue joystick on it. This would be pretty useless on systems that work primarily with a D-pad so who knows. Maybe we’ll have more luck with the Retron 6.
