Wii64: Nintendo 64 in a Wii mod

This is probably going to be quite a short post because I’m having a bit of trouble finding any information about this thing, but I’ll do the best I can with what I have. Without further adieu, here is the Wii64, the Nintendo 64 inside a Nintendo Wii.

The Wii64

This Nintendo 64 mod is quite old, it seems to date back all the way to late 2008 in an eBay auction which has now been deleted a long time ago.

The console looks exactly like a Nintendo Wii except that it has all the ports that you’d expect from a N64. It has the cartridge port sticking out through a hole carved into the side of the Wii, and controller ports sticking out where the Gamecube controller ports should be. The power and A/V ports exit on what is the ‘back’ of the Wii.

What I’d say is the really cool thing about this Nintendo 64 mod is that the disk drive of the Wii still lights up even though there isn’t any of the ‘guts’ still there. The N64 had that red LED that was quite plain, so this is an interesting feature that was added kept.

The auction began a $49.99, unknown final selling price.
