Nowhere To Go
Nowhere To Go is a homebrew demo by Lliy released on 27 November 2025. It’s a short music video featuring a flat paper cat with music by Juno.
Speaking of the author, the naming is a bit confusing. The animation says Lliy, but the GitHub username and repos use both Liy and Lily interchangeably. Since it’s so inconsistent, I’ll just use the spelling used in the N64 ROM itself.
You can get the ROM from its download page by using the password wherehaveigone. You can also get it from GitHub, where the source code is available too. There’s also the NeoCities page.
About Nowhere To Go
Nowhere To Go is a music video animation demo featuring the titular song by Juno. The animation itself features a flat cat character made out of paper. It looks like the same character seen in some of the other projects by Lliy.

It starts out with the cat being made out of paper cutouts, a corner of its hair being snipped out. The cat is then flipped, shaken and thrown around a bit. There is a short bit where it’s hung by its curl with a string, kind of like a decoration on a Christmas tree. It then descends towards the table where it gets a tear on top of its head.
Throughout the music video, the cat lip-syncs with the music.
This demo was originally released for the Nintendo Wii on 25 March 2025, about 8 months earlier.

Review and conclusion
This is a short yet cute demo. I like the cat character, it has plenty of personality even though it’s really just a flat cutout (literally). The editing is fast-paced and managed to keep my attention through multiple viewings.
It kind of reminds me of the Flash music videos from the mid-2000s: heavily compressed MP3s ripped from bands that almost certainly never endorsed them, flat characters stretching and squashing across the screen, over-the-top tween animations, and a sort of charm that makes the whole thing memorable.
It’s probably best to just watch the video since there isn’t much to see outside of it, but it’s still interesting to see Nowhere To Go on real hardware just for kicks.
