About Box Fix Box With Box
This game is what you can read on the box’s label. Each level starts with a 2D grid of boxes falling apart, leaving a set of ‘ghost boxes’ in their wake. You play as the hero box in a 3D environment, and your job is to collect boxes of the right colour and throw them onto the ghosts of the corresponding colour. Once the pattern has been restored, you can proceed to the next level.

There is one tutorial level and five normal levels, each putting the box sources in a progressively more awkward or complex place. It eventually gets to the point where the challenge isn’t just aiming your shots, but also shuttling to and from each box source.

Review and conclusion
I really like the concept for this game. It’s always nice to see the simple cube taken to a new level by give it a challenge and some personality.
The levels are creative. I first thought after playing a level or two that it was all just going to be flat structures and the challenge would be in aiming, but the game ended up being more of a platformer than a first person shooter.
Box Fix Box With Box has a couple of hurdles to clear. First, the crashes. The game occasionally fades to black without warning, likely thanks to the memory leak mentioned in the readme, which makes beating the game in one go impossible even with an Expansion Pak.

Second, the difficulty curve leans toward punishing. Movement feels stiff, and many jumps require precise acceleration and setup. The “bowl” level is the hardest, asking you to thread together a string of haphazardly placed boosters all in one go.
You can just tap the jump button to infinite jump and skip all the obstacles in the last two levels, but that just feels like a cheat to overcome impossible level design.
Overall a fun game. Just don’t be ashamed to use the level select to skip the bugs or overly difficult or tedious level design.
