Fox News comments on the Nintendo 64

Yeaaah. If you’ve seen this you’re probably not going to want to see it again. The amount of cringe that you will get from watching this video will probably make your face stiff from shame. As you’d might expect, anchors over at Fox News don’t really know that much about videogames. Anyway, here you go, here is the commentary of Fox News anchors talking about Michael Cera and the Nintendo 64:

Fox News anchors stumble about the Nintendo 64

Transcript
Narrator: But since we’re both working tonight, this is the next best thing.

Cameralady: If we were doing N64, I could smoke you.

Michael Cera: Uh I don’t know about that.

Cameralady: Yeah.

Michael: I really don’t know about that.

Anchor 1: N64! Wow, droppin’, droppin the lingo.

Anchor 2: He’s got an N64 in there and a Wii U.

Anchor 1: So N64 is what I had in 1987 right? Is that the original Nintendo or…?

Anchor 2: No that’s like the original original grey box Nintendo. N64 is Nintendo 64 which Mario Kart debuted on that. I can’t even remember like 90’s? Somewhere around there? But anyways the show is only going on – a little nerd debate live on the news for ya.

And then they go on to talk about the show which I’ll skip.

Wow, so where to begin? Well, I’ll just give a brief explanation of what’s going on in the video. Michael Cera is playing a videogame with a girl (I think it’s a Wii U) and she says that she would kick his ass if they were playing the Nintendo 64 instead. The news anchors then go on to get pretty much everything about the Nintendo 64 wrong. And without further adieu, here is the list of facts that they say, and what’s wrong with them:

  1. Droppin’ the lingo – Really? Do I really need to explain this?
  2. He’s got an N64 in there and a Wii U – Correct! =D
  3. 1987. Nope. Nopenopenopenopenopenope. That’s the NES.
  4. the original grey box Nintendo. Ding! Correct!
  5. Mario Kart debuted on that. Ooo so close! She was on a roll!
  6. Like 90’s? Yes, the majority of the Nintendo 64’s lifespan was during the 90’s!

So that’s three out of the six points made during this segment, a 50% score, all points going to Anchor 2. She’s the best.
