About Springy Break
Springy Break takes place in the springtime (obviously), with a bunch of woodland critters. The three main characters are:
- A squirrel
- An owl
- A chick (not sure what kind)

There are several scenes in which they appear:
- Squirrel jumping along the ground with a star transition
- The squirrel the appears in a tree with pink flowers
- A green owl flies onto the same tree
- Squirrel continues jumping, now with an apple
- Ten pink chicks bounce in a circular formation
- Squirrel sits on a chair with an apple
- Credits roll with the squirrel, owl and chick jumping
That’s about it. It’s a collection of short scenes involving the same few objects.

Review and conclusion

At face value, Springy Break is a Nintendo 64 demo that aims primarily to be a cute animation, so that is what it focuses on. There doesn’t seem to be any technical breakthrough or extravagant artistry, just a pleasant scene of woodland critters.
It kind of reminds me of some earlier demos like Nintro 64 or Summer 64, with it showing characters moving around a scene though different angles. I personally would have enjoyed it a bit more if they added a story to the demo rather than just being a collection of random shots from the scene, but it still works okay all things considered.
Give it a run, Springy Break is a cute little animation that’s sure to cheer you up a bit, even if it’s just for a few minutes.
