Pip’s Porn Pack 1-3

Pip’s Porn Pack (Including Absolute Zero) is a set of three ROMs by Mr. Pips which contain a variety of pornographic imagery. They were released throughout 1999, on 15 Feb, 25 Apr and 29 Jul respectively. The 2nd pack was submitted to Presence of Mind ’99, where it ended up 16th.

About Pip’s Porn Pack

It’s kind of confusing because Pip’s Porn Pack is part of a pack of three ROMs, so let’s have a look at them one at a time.

Pip’s Porn Pack 1

The first one in this pack is arguably the simplest. The menu contains two items:

• View Porn
• Vibrator

The first one is as what it says on the tin. It’s a series of five images of ladies doing various… things, each flashing on screen for about half a second.

The vibrator activates the Rumble Pak. ‘Nuff said.

Pip’s Porn Pack 2

This is the one sent over to the competition at Presence of Mind ’99. Ironically, it’s the least pornographic out of the bunch.

The bulk of the ROM consists of a 3D game called Absolute Zero in which you control a penguin who has to navigate through three levels of a maze. There are these big red chompers who block your path, but they can be removed by picking up a cookie beforehand. The mazes are dead simple, and the only way to die is to deliberately fall off of the path.

In the options menu, you can access a minesweeper game and a 3D model viewer. The minesweeper game is fairly basic. Oddly enough, it uses a mouse-like pointer for control rather than ‘selecting’ different cells like most other tile-based games.

Once you have completed the three levels of Absolute Zero, You’ll unlock two porn options in the options menu: View porn and vibrator. This time the porn section only has one picture, but the vibrator now has a added picture and three vibration levels instead of two.

Pip’s Porn Pack 3

The final entry in the PPP collection only has one picture in it, but this time it’s animated. Crudely.

It depicts the face of some guy. Not sure who he is, but it’s likely it’s someone from Dextrose or someone Mr Pip knew IRL.Then his mouth’s bitmap detaches,opening wide for… You can guess what. It then just loops over and over, no vibrator option this time around.

Review and conclusion

This is the first time in over 10 years the I post something NSFW to this site, last time was this N64 cartridge art in 2015. I suppose that for the most part people tend to keep the spirit of the console clean, besides maybe some fanart of characters from the games. I guess that Lara Croft bore the brunt of all that from the era.

The first game in the series is the one that live up to its name the best. You load the ROM and boom, you’re good to go. The images flash by so quickly it’s hard to focus on anything, so it could’ve used a slideshow feature to make it more… Convienient.

The second game is the star of the show with two complete games to play. Absolute Zero is graphically impressive for the time, but has absolutely zero challenge to it. Minesweeper does work well, but there are just two pics this time though.

The version of Pip’s Porn Pack is probably a prank that Mr Pips played on one of his friends. It’s funny though since nowadays this would probably be classified as “deepfake revenge porn” or something like that.

Though quite crude (you wouldn’t want to play this game with your grandmother), Pip’s Porn Pack 1-3 really is an anything-goes kind of project. It comes from a time before codes of conduct and AI post filters, and that’s what makes it great.
