Nintendo 64 games heading to the Wii U eShop

Late news from E3 – Nintendo 64 games will be appearing soon to the Wii U eShop!

The Wii got a lot of Nintendo 64 games released for the Virtual Console. I personally didn’t download any of them because I already had them on the original console, but I know that a lot of other people did. What was particularly interesting was that they decided to release Sin and Punishment and Ogre Battle In the west and Europe respectively.

However, the Wii U has yet to give any love to the Nintendo 64 =(

For now, the Virtual console area only shows NES, SNES and GBA games, not games for any other console. Hopefully this will change in the near future and a whole bunch of N64 games will be released on the Wii U eShop for all to enjoy.

Nintendo has a very long history of making some of the greatest games out there – and now that the Wii U has a gamepad that can simulate the N64 controller much better than the Wii did (Classic controller doesn’t count, that was sold separately), the N64 might receive another boom in popularity.
